Transcribers' Corner
It was originally our intention to include here original scans of the document to be transcribed or proofread but this would have meant buying more expensive website space so we shall continue to commit such files to disks which will be sent to volunteers as appropriate.
For the moment this section is devoted to our major project - the diary of Rector Carey Hampton Borrer.
Click here for the transcribers' downloads.
Tips for transcribers
1) Please use the date template for you work input or adopt our dating system
2) Expand obvious abbreviations
3) Consult Borrer Notes for more obscure abbreviations
4) Feel free to alter punctuation where it adds to reader friendliness
5) Do no genealogical work at this time.
6) If you have trouble in deciphering any passage Hilary Wild is willing to help you and can be reached by email at: jim.wild@ntlworld.com
Tips for proofreaders
1) Dates and expanded abbreviaitions are intentional
2) Punctuation may have been "improved"
3) Names may have been expanded
4) Spelling may have been standardised here and there but not generally as we do not want to lose the 'flavour'.
5) Please highlight all correctons in red characters
